Chief Baby Officer - Do they really need a survey for this? Or the benefit of your children going to sleep early
Came across this piece in The Daily Mail today, apparently, parents with young children only get enjoy 15 minutes of quality time together.
I have two questions, the first; did they need a survey for that? Haven’t they ever been with baby and toddlers? Haven’t they seen those ESDs (energy sucking devices AKA your children) to know it killing any chance of spending quality time with your spouse?
The second question is, 15 minutes, that long? And quality? Usually it is just letting out steam at each other.
Now seriously, I love my girls, they are the most amazing things on the face of this...

Shiri Perciger-Cohen - It’s a dictatorship I tell you
Our friend came to visit yesterday with her 6 weeks old baby girl. Our friend is a new mom with a tendency to “crunchiness”, mid-thirties, free spirit, lived all around the world, did some crazy things in her days, a sort of an avantgarde performance artist and a totally cool person in all respects.
And she’s driven insane by her mom and her advices.
“The baby isn’t dressed warm enough”, “Why does she sleep in your bed?” “Why don’t you have a regular feedi...

Chief Baby Officer - No more counting spoons
Visited the Baby Show in Birmingham, one of the fun things you get to do as the CBO (chief baby officer), loads of new products in the market, and soon,Stephen, our Baby Gear Aficionado is going to up load some reviews to the site.
I was more interested in looking into all the small gadget people invent around the baby industry. We are passionate about our children, and I think a lot of people, through the process of being a parent are coming up with different business ideas, I know I came up with one, this website.

Chief Baby Officer - The secret virus.
Mika, my youngest (2 and 3 months), was a bit ill over the weekend, nothing that a little Ibuprofen and Paracetamol can’t cure.
Monday morning she had a slight fever, 37.5, we gave her some Ibuprofen and sent her to nursery. This morning, at our local coffee shop I’ve bumped into a mum from nursery, she said she thinks her son got the virus that been going around the nursery, which made me think, how many parents sends their kids to nursery with a slight fever and a hidden virus…..

Shiri Perciger-Cohen - Because a feel-good post wouldn’t be as much fun
The worst moment of my life to this point was sitting in a neon-lit emergency room corridor and hearing through the closed door of the examination room three weeks old Dandelion screaming with pain while undergoing a spinal tap procedure.
If you didn’t click on the above link, you might be under the impression I’m an overreacting drama queen. Not everybody likes fictitious heavy metal, but really, how bad could it be? Bad. As bad as having an ER intern take a long needle and insert it into your newborn’s spinal canal to sample his cerebrospinal fluid in order to test for meningit...

It's a Mum's Life - Hounded out
TLM and I were hounded out of a coffee shop today. Ok, so no one threw stones at us, or biscotti or choc chip muffins or whatever people in Starbucks would throw if they were forcing someone to abandon their half drunk, half shot, tall skinny latte and run. In fact no one even told us to leave. But they might as well have done. Every time TLM shrieked – TLM lets out piercingly loud screams when he doesn’t get his own way– the other customers gave us looks so filthy that even a dose of Napisan wouldn’t clean them up.
There was the man quietly (well, quietly ‘til we rocked up) reading a book. The depressed looking young couple – she was all smiles at TLM when we first walked in and TLM was giggling and f...

It's a Mum's Life - The joy of second hand baby kit
I’m no skinflint and I’m not particularly hard up. I wouldn’t dream of buying second hand clothes (I’m not stylish enough to be one of those women who dresses in ‘vintage finds’ from charity stores – I’d probably get it horribly wrong and end up looking like I was wearing one of Ugly Betty’s outfits).
So if second hand isn’t good enough for me then why is it ok for my son – who after all is way more important to me than me? Yes, prior to TLM’s much awaited arrival I wouldn’t have thought I’d be so happy to stick him in a second hand outfit/ pram/ cot but believe me I so am. Ok, I’ve not taken to rummaging around in charity shops but if a friend offers me a stylish hand me down coat in T...
